1. APPROACHING FROM GALWAY AND THE EAST
Follow the signs to the West.
From the Bodkin roundabout between Dunnes and Tescos stores follow the signs to Salthill and Spiddal. Go straight over the next traffic lights and another roundabout. This is Seamus Quirke Road and leads into Bishop O'Donnell Road. Eventually you will come to traffic lights at the junction with Kingston Road. Turn right into Kingston Road, the R337, again signposted to Spiddal. This road becomes the R336 and takes you through Knocknacarragh, Barna and Furbo. 18km (12miles) from the Bodkin roundabout by Tescos you will enter Spiddal. The road is right on the seafront and you will see the Ceardlann - Spiddal Craft Centre on the right, just before you come to the Texaco petrol station. We are the second shop on the left in the Craft Centre. Time from the Bodkin roundabout is 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic.
2. APPROACHING FROM THE WEST.
From the Carraroe area take the R343 and R336 East to Galway. From the Carna, Kilkieren, Rosmuc, area follow the R340 to Screebe. Take the right turn just after Screebe House signposted to Casla and Rossaveel. This is the R336 and brings you to the Tee junction right on the seafront at Casla. Turn left to Spiddal. Spiddal is 20km (12miles) from this turning.
3. APPROACHING FROM THE NORTH
From the main Clifden Galway Road, N59, proceed South as far as Moycullen. In the centre of Moycullen village there is a right turning. This is a minor road and easy to miss. It is just before the Super Value.
Follow this road across the bog for about 13km (8 miles). This brings you out in the middle of Spiddal by the Spar. Turn left and you will see the Ceardlann - Spiddal Craft Centre on your left. |
